Build a real project.
Help research a need, design an initiative, organize the work and take responsibility for a piece of it.
THE PEOPLE BEHIND THE PURPOSE
We believe students have something valuable to contribute.
And we’re creating a place to put that belief into action.
WHO WE ARE
From Mackenzie. For our community.Community Impact Club brings students together around social and environmental action.
Founded by Liam Langer, Community Impact Club’s founding school chapter is William Lyon Mackenzie Collegiate Institute in Toronto. Activities at Mackenzie remain subject to school approval, teacher supervision and school policies.
Students shape projects from the first idea to the work that follows. In time, the initiative could grow beyond Mackenzie, with future chapters and continued involvement after high school. That is an ambition, not an existing network.

His interests connect entrepreneurship, technology, social and environmental impact, and human health. He is particularly interested in working with children. Through the club, he wants students to turn ideas into thoughtful projects with measurable results.

Real work, room to grow.Students do more than attend meetings. They help choose an issue, plan a response, work with others and learn what changed.
Help research a need, design an initiative, organize the work and take responsibility for a piece of it.
Practice teamwork, outreach, public speaking and project management. Learn from advisors and, where approved, community organizations.
Track participation and outcomes. Build specific experiences you can explain in applications, résumés and interviews.
Some approved initiatives may offer volunteering with a charitable or community organization. Community-involvement hours depend on school rules and the activity; check eligibility before counting them.
ROOM TO GROW / GRADES 9–12
Start with curiosity. Build through experience.Help design the project, not just attend the meeting.
Practise research, project management, teamwork, communications, stakeholder engagement, event planning and impact measurement. Meet professionals and academics, explore universities and community organizations, and learn about social impact and sustainability.
Explore issues, join a project team and build foundational skills.
Take responsibility for a meaningful part of a project and put your strengths to work.
Work toward leading projects, speaking with organizations and supporting younger members.
Seek executive responsibilities, help lead major initiatives and prepare the next student leaders.
This is a possible pathway, not a fixed ladder or a guarantee of a role. Mentorship and hands-on work can give you concrete experiences to discuss in résumés, scholarships, university and job applications, and interviews.
Community-involvement opportunities may be eligible where approved. Confirm eligibility with the school before counting hours.
